CCFD-Terre Solidaire

The Comité catholique contre la faim et pour le développement-Terre Solidaire (CCFD-Terre Solidaire) is a French development NGO. For over 50 years, CCFD-Terre Solidaire has fought durably against hunger by addressing its root causes, from the more local to the more global ones, partnering with all fighting poverty and injustice.

They combine three modes of complementary actions to serve one single mission: international solidarity

  • International development projects with local partners
  • Awareness raising and education about development of the French public, to build an inclusive global society
  • Advocacy towards French and European political and economic decision-makers

With each partner organization, CCFD-Terre Solidaire develops social, economic and educational projects aimed at reducing poverty.

By providing concrete answers, CCFD-Terre Solidaire works on the following themes:

  • Food sovereignty
  • Sharing of financial wealth
  • Promotion of social and solidarity economy
  • Gender equality
  • Conflict prevention and resolution
  • International Migration

In Central Africa, the CCFD-Terre Solidaire supports local stakeholders (farmers' groups, women's movements, youth associations, etc.). In Burundi, the organization supports and accompanies several partner organizations involved on thematic of conflict prevention and resolution and food sovereignty. In DRC, CCFD-Terre Solidaire intends to challenge the French and European policy makers and public opinion on major issues related to peace, strengthening of democracy and development. In Rwanda, the organization supports partner organizations on projects about food sovereignty, education for peace, youth.
